Doug graduated from Adrian High School in 1962. On June 1, 1968, he and Kathy Kunerth were married at American Lutheran Church in Worthington, Minnesota. Following their marriage they lived in Worthington and Doug worked for Armours for 17 years and then became a USDA inspector. In 1986, they moved to a home on Lake Shetek, Murray County, Minnesota. Doug passed away on June 21, 2006, at the Murray County Hospital in Slayton at the age of 63. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN. Doug was an active union member. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, gardening, boating, fishing, hunting and his pets. Survivors include his wife Kathy Aanenson, Slayton, MN; two daughters: Tonya Aanenson, Worthington, MN and Darci and her husband Douglas Haraldson, Sioux Falls, SD; one grandson Justin Douglas Haraldson; three brothers and their spouses: Dennis and Rachel Aanenson, Worthington, MN; Gary and Mary Aanenson, Phoenix, AZ; and Roger Aanenson, Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Gloria Hansen and her husband, Cliff, Lake Benton, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Tom Aanenson. Memorial services Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ted Kunze officiating. The organist was LaDean Lang. The honorary pallbearers are John Pater, Kevin Barry, Orville Kenowith, Garland Gherke and Don Ebbinga. Totzke Funeral Home Slayton in charge of arrangements.
