Bothwell was born August 24, 1925 to Leonard and Emma (Klug) Bothwell at Fulda, MN. Donald entered the US Navy on June 10, 1943 and received his honorable discharge on August 22, 1946. Donald married Dorothy Miranowski on June 23, 1951, at Fulda, MN. They moved to Aberdeen in 1960 and have resided there since that time. Donald was a Federal Air Traffic Controller at the Aberdeen Regional Airport for many years until he retired in 1987. Surviving Donald are three daughters, Candace Bothwell (spouse Michael Lesko) of Stratford, CT, Cathy (Michael) Donellan of Severn, MD and Marian Bothwell of Chantilly, VA, one son Stuart (Teri) Bothwell of Minot, ND, five grandchildren, Melissa, Erika, Seth, Daniel and Katey and three brothers. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy in 1981, one son, Michael Bothwell in 1989 and one brother, Ken Bothwell. Funeral services were held on Monday, March 21, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary, Aberdeen, SD, with Father Brian Simon officiating. Pallbearers were: Mike Lesko, Mike Donellan, Dennis Sahli, Stan Rice, Jake Jundt, and Dwight Syverson.
