The family lived in Lake Wilson, Minnesota until 1992 after the tornado. They lived in Slayton for a few months before moving to Iona. They lived there until 1997, when they moved to Slayton. Torri graduated from Murray County Central High School in 2002 where she participated on the girls golf team. She attended Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota and was on the golf team. She presently was a senior at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. Torri was killed in an auto accident on November 21, 2005, at the age of 22. She was a member of the Iona Presbyterian Church. She had worked at Amoco and presently worked at Prairie View in Slayton for the past two and a half years. She enjoyed playing golf, especially with her uncle John; her cats Gracie and Georgie; music, soccer, watching all sports on TV, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her mother Anita Brouwer, Slayton; grandmother, Rose Brouwer, Hadley; aunts and uncles: Jeanine and Terry Lloyd, Mankato, MN; Loren Brouwer and his special friend Shara Church, Pipestone, MN; Verlyn Brouwer and his special friend Eileen Bratt, Lake Wilson, MN; Darla and Richard Van Meveren, Hartford, SD; and John Brouwer, Hadley, MN; and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Marvin Brouwer. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Iona Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Poppen officiating. The organist is Bonnie Poppen. Interment is the Badger Lake Cemetery in rural Iona, MN. Dateline Slayton: Visitation will be on Friday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Totzke Funeral Home in Slayton and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. ========================================================================= Copyright Judy Clarke 2005.
