FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: April 2007 ========================================================================= Viola Anna Bruflat was born on September 12, 1916 in Dumont, Iowa to Fred and Grace Slight Eisentrager. She grew up in Dumont and attended country school. On July 7, 1940 she and Blaine Bruflat were married in Canby, MN. Following their marriage they made their home in Canby. Blaine passed away on December 1, 1965. Viola remained in Canby and worked at the Canby School as a cook. In 1971 she moved to Fairmont, MN and worked at the Fairmont Hospital as a Nurses Aid. She retired in 1982 and moved to Fulda, MN. In June 2004 Viola became a resident of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda and passed away there on March 16, 2007 at the age of 90. She was a member of the Fulda Presbyterian Church in Fulda. Viola was active in the Ladies Aid, and on the Sunshine Committee. Viola received the Presbyterian Women Honorary Life Membership Award. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Fulda Pink Ladies, RSVP Volunteer and delivered Meals on Wheels. Viola was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her three daughter and their spouses: Sydney and Earl Halverson of Fulda, MN, Janet and Gary Schmidt of Dunkirk, MD, and Janice and Jim Weiss of Oakhurst, CA, seven grandchildren, and 13 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Blaine, two brothers, Clifford Donald and Orville Eisentrager, one sister, Bernice Yackley, and one niece, Sandra Yackley. Funeral services at Fulda Presbyterian Church in Fulda, MN on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bob Raedeke officiating. The organist is Mary Jean Buschena with special music by her granddaughter, Patricia Halverson and great-granddaughter, Abigail Joy. The pallbearers are her grandchildren, Patricia Halverson, Douglas Halverson, Lori Inkrot, Bryan Weiss, Bradley Weiss, Patrick Schmidt and Matthew Schmidt.
