FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: July 2007 ========================================================================= Murray County Richard "Ben" Benedict Chepa, the son of Theadore and Della Jones Chepa, was born on August 2, 1930 in Fulda, MN. He grew up on the family farm near Kinbrae, MN. He attended country school in Graham Lakes Township. Ben later entered the U.S. Army in 1952. After his honorable discharge in 1954, Ben returned to the farm and worked for the Kinbrae Elevator. In 1965 he moved into Dundee, MN and over the years worked for the Toro Co. in Windom and construction for Scheppmann Construction in Okabena and later for Barritt Construction in Fulda. Ben passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at his home at the age of 76. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dundee. Ben also belonged to the Dundee American Legion Post 386 and helped at the Dundee Rod and Gun Club and with Mulligan Stews over the years. He enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and visiting with many friends and relatives. Survivors include his three sisters, Nan Johnson of Dundee, MN, Donna Anderson of Grand Island, NE and Mary Schwartz and her husband, Tom of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, Leon Chepa of Fulda, MN and Hollis Chepa and his wife, Barbara of Kinbrae, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Donald, Douglas, Jerry and Marty Chepa and one sister, Gen Czepa. Memorial Services will be at First Lutheran Church Dundee, MN at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 6, 2007 with the Rev. Kristi Mitchell officiating. The organist is Connie Stenke. The soloist is Norma Dittman. The honorary pallbearers are his nephews, Steve Anderson, Brad Chepa, Doran Johnson, Scott Chepa, Alan Johnson, Larry Johnson, Dean Johnson, Steve Chepa and Treavor Fugitt.
