Coffitt Passes Away In Florida - Funeral services were held last week in Florida for W.D. Coffitt. Mr. Coffitt was a member of the South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, and the services were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Stephen T. Harvin. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery. W.D. Coffitt, for many years a resident of Fulda, but more recently of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away at his southern home about 9 o'clock Monday evening, May 16. He had been in poor health for several years. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Russel Turner (Wilma) and Mrs. Chas. McKenney (Velma) all of Florida. There are eight grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Theron West (Nellie) preceded her father in death. There is one great grandchild. Mr. Coffitt also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Frank Draper of Austin, and Mrs. E.C. Gunthier, Waterloo, Iowa, and three brothers, John of Luverne, Alva of Currie, and Frank of Hendersonville, N.C. Mr. Coffitt was 73 years of age. He moved to Jacksonville in 1950 following his retirement. He was a member of the Modern Woodment and Odd Fellow lodges." (This article is from a relative's scrapbook.
