FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: February 2005 ========================================================================= 1907-FAIRY DASS-2005 Fairy Mae Dass the daughter of William and Nettie Reed Staley was born on November 26, 1907 at Marshall, IL. In 1920 she moved to Lake Park, IA. Fairy was united in marriage to Herman C. Dass on December 19, 1924 in Ocheyden, IA. Following their marriage they farmed near Harris, IA until 1946 when they moved to a farm near Fulda, MN. After retiring from farming in 1965 they moved into Fulda. Herman passed away on October 22, 1974. Fairy continued living at her home until 2001 when she moved to the Maple View Estates. Due to failing health, she entered Maple Lawn Nursing Home in December 2002 and passed away there on February 3, 2005 at the age of 97. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and belonged to Ladies Aid and was a member of the Pink Ladies for many years and the American Legion Auxillary. Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Carroll and Ramona Dass of Sibley, IA, Alvin and Darlene Dass of Mesa, AZ and Frances and Francis "Shorty" Lamont of Watertown, SD; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; three great-great-great grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, Rae Dass of Ocheyden, IA, Bertha Staley of Casey, IL and Marie Dass of Fulda, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman, one grandson, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and three brothers, Carl, Ray and Bob Staley. Funeral services were held at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at with the Rev. Dwayne Schroeder officiating. The organist was Irene Wahl. The soloist was Shirley Buschena. The pallbearers were Ken Dass, Kevin Dass, Dennis Dass, Tim Dass, Bob Lamont, Corey Johnson and Michael Johnson. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery Fulda, MN.
