Dittman, the daughter of Glen and Amanda Latuska Johnson, was born on October 28, 1933 in Bloom Township, Nobles County, Minnesota. At a young age Carol moved with her family to a farm west of Windom and in 1936 they moved to Dundee where she attended school in Dundee and Kinbrae. Carol was united in marriage to Ernest Dittman on August 29, 1954 at the First Lutheran Church in Dundee. After their marriage they farmed near Dundee, MN. Carol passed away at the Worthington Regional Hospital on Friday, November 12, 2004 at the age of 71. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Dundee where she belonged to the W.E.L.C.A.. Carol enjoyed embroidery, gardening and reading. Survivors include her husband, Ernest; two daughters and their husbands, Lana and Kurt Grimmius of Worthington, MN and Lori and William Samp of Eden Prairie, MN; three grandsons, Taylor Samp, Nathan Grimmius and Ryan Grimmius. She is preceded in death by her parents and a infant son, Randy Dittman. Funeral services were held at First Lutheran Church, Dundee, MN at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 16, 2004 with the Rev. Gary Burkhalter officiating. The organist was Norma Dittman. The pallbearers w re Nathan Grimmius, Ryan Grimmius, Robert Dittman, Richard Paplow, Fred Knigge and Roy Dirksen. Honorary pallbearer were Taylor Samp. Interment at Dundee Lutheran Cemetery, Dundee, MN.
