He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Chandler-Lake Wilson High School in 1980. He farmed with his father. He was married in 1981 and had a son, Anthony in 1984. Kevin continued living north of Lake Wilson. He married his life partner of 16 years, Sandra Jurrens, at their home, on June 26, 2004. He farmed until 2003, when he retired due to failing health. Kevin dealt with his illness with much courage and underwent a liver-kidney transplant at the University of Minnesota on November 8, 2004. Kevin passed away on November 5, 2005, at the Pipestone County Medical Center at the age of 43. He was a life long member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Wilson. Kevin's passion was farming. His hobbies were hunting, ice fishing, and gardening. He loved to share the bounty of his garden with family and friends, especially his sweet corn and famous homemade salsa. Survivors include his wife Sandy Doeden, Lake Wilson; one son, Tony Doeden and his wife Darcey, Waite Park, MN; his mother Jennie Doeden, Lake Wilson; mother and father-in-law Harold and Faye Jurrens, Lake Wilson; three brothers, two sisters and their spouses: Doug and Arlis Doeden, Groton, SD; Harris and Linda Doeden, Minneapolis, MN; Pat and Bob Idziorek, Monticello, MN; Peggy and Harvey Erstad, Burnsville, MN; and Keith and Vicki Doeden, Lake Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at United Methodist Church in Lake Wilson, MN on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev. Gwen Bohlke officiating. The organist is Julie Brossard. The pallbearers are Mike Haupert, Mark Haupert, Randy DeGreeff, Randy Vancura, Don Douma and Danny DeGreeff. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Manderscheid, Daniel Haupert and Ron Einck.
