FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: May 2005 ========================================================================= David Eisfeld was born on February 24, 1945 at Tyler, Minnesota to Albert and Maaikje (Margaret) Van Eck Eisfeld. He grew up on the family farm near Lake Wilson and was baptized and confirmed at Ellsborough Lutheran Church. In 1960, the family moved to a farm seven miles north of Lake Wilson and David graduated from Lake Wilson High School. He lived on a farm six miles north of Lake Wilson then on a farm north of Hadley. In 1970, he moved to a farm in Skandia Township that was lost in the 1992 tornado. On January 20, 1993, which was Albert and Margaret's 50th anniversary, he and Marcie Kulseth Gleis were married at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN. They built a home seven miles north of Lake Wilson. Dave farmed and also did construction with his sons. Dave passed away on his farm on April 19, 2005, at the age of 60. Some of Dave's favorite pastimes were watching movies, playing cards, traveling, telling stories, fixing things and he was good at making repairs. He owned and enjoyed a 1966 Chevelle and was very proud of it. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Marcie Eisfeld, rural Lake Wilson, MN; two sons and two daughters: Teresa and her husband Rich Johnson, Fulda, MN; Tracie Balsley, Balaton, MN; Troy Eisfeld and his special friend, Kim Hart, Balaton, MN and Tom Eisfeld, Balaton, MN; step children: Shari and Lance Dean, Round Lake, MN; Jim Gleis and his fiancé, Teresa Fenicle, Iona, MN; Bryan and Wendy Gleis, Tracy, MN; nine grandchildren: Joshua and Lacey DeGreeff, Abra Johnson, Cole Balsley, Taylor and Trevor Eisfeld, Cody Dean, and Austin, Alyssa and Riley Gleis; his father Albert Eisfeld, Slayton, MN; two sisters and their husbands: Marjorie and Orvin Severeid, Lake Wilson, MN,and Shirley and Joel Herrmann, High Point, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on April 23, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Gloria Anderson officiating. The organist was Twyla Hungerford. Special music was by Rev. A.R. Sellevold. The pallbearers were Larry Eisfeld, Dwayne Eisfeld, Bob Eisfeld, Les DeGroot, Paul Kulseth and Roger Kulseth. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren. Interment is in Hillside Cemetery in Lake Wilson, MN.
