Murray County, MN to Carl and Ida Gernentz Eisfeld. He grew up on the farm and attended Country School District #22. He farmed the family farm with his family. Elwin enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in WW II. Following his discharge, Elwin returned to the family farm. He remained on the farm until he retired from farming in 1999 and moved to the Lindenwood Assisted Living Apartments in Slayton in March of 2000. In June of 2007 Elwin moved to the Our House Hospice Home in Slayton and passed away there on August 3, 2007 at the age of 87. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Wilson, MN. Elwin enjoyed farming, woodworking and visiting with friends and family. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, eight sisters, Lydia, Elizabeth, Laura, Dora, Flora, Esther, Ruby and Elsie and seven brothers, Gilbert, Walter, Raymond, Clarence, Herman, Clifford and Albert Eisfeld, and an infant brother. Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church Lake Wilson, MN on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. Gwen Bohlke officiating. The organist is Julie Brossard. The soloist is Hub Sandmann. The pallbearers are Roger Eisfeld, Cindy Smith, Rodney Eisfeld, Joe Eisfeld, Richard Eisfeld, Mark Eisfeld, Allen Qualey and Larry Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Miller, Duane Carlson, Fredrick Carlson, Dennis Miller, Steve Herrmann, Gary Posthuma, Jack VanEck and Del Anderson. Interment is at the Hillside Cemetery, Lake Wilson, MN.
