Murray County



  Clarence Edward Ewy, the son of Jacob and Marie Von Holt Ewy, was born 

on April 15, 1915 in Des Moines River Township, Murray County, Minnesota. 

He grew up on the family farm and attended District 96 Country School. 

  Clarence remained on the farm with his sister, Edna, and took over after 

his parents retired. He delivered mail from the Avoca Post Office for many 

years. Clarence entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda MN in December 

of 2004 and passed away there on February 2, 2007 at the age of 91. He was 

a member of Faith Lutheran Church Avoca, MN and served as an usher and on 

the church council. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and visiting with 

family and friends.

  Survivors include his two sisters, Edna Ewy of Fulda, MN and Vera 

Langfeldt and her husband, Eldo of Fulda, MN; one brother, Elwood Ewy 

and his wife, Beverly of Watertown, SD; many nieces, nephews, other 

relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, 

Esther Neilson and an infant brother, Vernon Ewy. 

  Funeral services were held at Faith Lutheran Church Avoca, MN at 10:30 

AM on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 with the Rev. Ted Kunze officiating. 

The organist was Nancy Pierson. The pallbearers were Marwood Neilson, 

Keith Ewy, Stephen Noding, David Clark, Marlo Lindstrom and Harvey Jans. 

Interment at Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Avoca, MN.
