Veronica Margaret Friel was born on June 27, 1913. She was the beloved 

wife of the late Bernard J. Friel; loving mother of Ronnie Schwarz, Rey 

Friel, Maire Blaisdell, Kevin Friel, Shaina Lynch and Kelli Wakefield; 

sister of Bernard Smith and the late John Smith, Willie Smith, Clem Smith, 

Ed Smith, Leo Smith, Josephine Hargrove and Magdaline Krier; devoted 

grandmother of Kerri Schwarz, Katy Schwarz, Blane Wakefield, Jamie 

Wakefield, Travis Wakefield, Morgan Friel, Shaina Friel, Cary Selsback 

and Casey Selsback; mother-in-law of Bill Schwarz, Roger Selsback, Bob 

Blaisdell, Lori Friel, and Larry Lynch.



A native of Fulda, Minnesota, Veronica taught school in Colorado. She 

and Bernard were married in San Francisco during World War II. 



Veronica passed away on June 22, 2005, at the age of 91 years.
