FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: May 2005 ========================================================================= Gerald Frisk was born on March 19, 1940, in Avoca, Minnesota to LeRoy and Lucille Ireton Frisk. He grew up in Avoca and graduated from Slayton High School in 1958. Gerald then stared working at Toro Manufacturing in Windom, Minnesota. In 1963, Gerald was drafted to the U.S. army and was stationed in Korea. Following his discharge in 1965, Gerald returned to Windom to work at Toro. He retired in 2002, after 43 years of service. Gerald passed away on March 30, 2005, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 65. He was a lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Avoca. Gerald enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, reading and having coffee with his friends. Survivors include his mother Lucille Frisk, Luverne, MN; two sisters and their husbands: Yvonne and Lester Salisbury, Wells, MN and Marlyce and Dennis Kalmes, Rosemount, MN; one niece; seven nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews and a great-great nephew and niece. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services were held at Faith Lutheran Church in Avoca, MN on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gloria Anderson officiating. The organist was Sheri Isder. The pallbearers were Kevin Salisbury, Gary Salisbury, David Salisbury, Craig Salisbury, Jodie Salisbury, Mike Kalmes, Brian Kalmes, and Tim Kalmes. Interment is at Slayton Memorial Gardens, Slayton, MN. Military honors furnished by the Avoca Legion Post. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton in charge of arrangements.
