FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: November 2004 ========================================================================= 1917-MARILLA FURY-2004 Marilla Rose Fury, the daughter of John J. and Josephine Langer Fury was born on September 21, 1917 in Graham Lake Twp. Nobles County, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Kinbrae, MN and graduated from Worthington High School. Marilla then went on to attend Windom normal training. Marilla taught primary grades in the Kinbrae School for several years. She later moved to Kansas City, MO and worked with the Red Cross Motor Corp. and later worked at the Federal Reserve Bank for 35 years. Following her retirement in 1980 she returned to Fulda. In 2000 Marilla Moved to Maple View Estates in Fulda. In 2003 she became a resident of Lakeview Nursing Home in Heron Lake and passed away there on October 26, 2004 at the age of 87. Marilla was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda and was active with the W.C.C.W. Marilla also was a member of the Graham Lakes Study Club, Pink Ladies of Fulda, Winona Diocese Board of Education, Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed music, golf, crafts, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her sister, Katherine Kern of Bloomington, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Sylvester, John, Cyril, Eugene, and Philip Fury, six sisters, Florence Scott, Marie Fury, Josephine Fury, Marjorie Fury, Dorothy Fury and Marge Casey. Funeral services will be held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Fulda, MN 10:30 AM on Friday October 29, 2004 with the Msgr. Paul Evers celebrating. The organist was Matt Vorthems. The song Leader was Lloyd Winter. The pallbearers were Dick Kern, Mike Fury, Jim Fury, and Jerry Fury Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dundee, MN. Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda assisted the family with arrangements
