(AP)-Mrs. Roselene Gilles and her mother, Mrs. Peter Schreier were buried Wednesday, three days after they were shot to death while walking to Sunday mass. Mrs. Gilles' former husband, Everett Gilles, 35, is held at Marshall in $10,000 bail on a first degree murder charge in the shootings. Nearly 600 mourners jammed St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church for the funeral of Mrs. Gilles, 34, and Mrs. Schreier, 60. The shootings took place just outside the church. Among those at the funeral Mrs. Gilles' eight children, four of whom witnessed the shooting, and Schreier. Friends and relatives attended from a wide area of southwestern Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota. The mourners heard Msgr. Thomas McHigh quote Christ's words from the cross, "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do." The women were buried in the near St. Ann's Cemetery on a hillside outside town, about a mile from the church. The Gilles children, aged 4 to 15, appeared to take the services stoically, except for Edward, 12, who broke down at the cemetery.
