FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: September 2005 ========================================================================= Ruth Gunderman, the daughter of John and Emma Fillman Miller, was born on October 24, 1906 on a farm in Nobles Co., MN near Fulda. She attended District #4 Country School and St. Paul's Lutheran School in Fulda and the Fulda High School. Ruth was united in marriage to Alfred Gunderman on December 9, 1926 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda. After their marriage they lived in Springfield, MN before moving to a farm in Graham Lakes Township, Nobles County in 1929. In 1954 they purchased a farm in Belfast Township, Murray County. After their retirement in 1975 they moved into Fulda. Alfred passed away April 13, 1988. Ruth entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in December of 2001 and passed away there on June 28, 2005 at the age of 98. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she belonged to the ladies aid, taught Sunday School, served on the altar guild, was a bible study leader, and active in the Women's Missionary League. Ruth was also a member of the Fulda Pink Ladies, Fulda VFW Auxiliary Post 9017, Neighborhood Birthday Club, Ruth Club, Fulda Reading Club, Three Wheel Bike Riders, Fulda Senior Citizens and was a past 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, ceramics, sewing, quilting, crocheting, needlepoint, reading, traveling and spending time with her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Carol Hatfield of Knoxville, TN and Peggy Schuur and her husband, Gary of Fulda, MN. Carol and Sid are the parents of three children, Bill (Cheryl) Hatfield and Jeff Hatfield and Kimberly Gray and have five grandchildren, Christopher, Sidney, Heather, Ryan and Kiley. Peggy and Gary are the parents of Scott (Dawn) Schuur, Todd (Jennifer) Schuur and Amy (Todd) Thier and have seven grandchildren, Brandon, Noah, Tyler, Jessica, Matthew, Austin and Zachary. She is also survived by one brother, Roland Miller of Fulda, MN; three sisters-in-law, Velma Miller, Helen Hebbert and Ruby Deal; brother-in-law Edwin Gunderman and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred, son-in-law, Sid Hatfield, two great-grandchildren, Noah Schuur and Heather Hatfield and brothers Victor, Lester, Lloyd, Raymond and Leland Miller. ========================================================================= Copyright Judy Clarke 2005.
