The name and date of the paper are unknown. However there is handwritten note: "Died Mar. 17, 1958".) "Mrs. Guthier Rites Thursday at Minneapolis - Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Henry Anderson Mortuary in Minneapolis, under the auspices of the Rebekah Lodge, for Mrs. Robina Coppersmith Guthier, whose death occurred Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. McDonald. The Rev. Gilbert M. Beenken of Olivet Presbyterian church was in charge of the service. Robina Hogan McHarg, daughter of John and Anna Hardy McHarg, was born in Belfast Township February 13, 1880. She attended the local schools and the Fulda Public School. She was married to Thomas Coppersmith November 8, 1899. To them were born two children, Thelma (Mrs. George McDonald of Minneapolis) and Leslie, now of Pontiac, Michigan. They moved to Minneapolis in 1906. Mr. Coppersmith died of a heart attack in 1920. Mrs. Coppersmith then became a nurse, and continued in the nursing profession for many years. On July 21, 1923, she was married to Edward Guthier. He died in January, 1943. Since that time she has lived alone, until November 17, 1957, when she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage. She never regained consciousness. She received care in a hospital until Christmas time, when her daughter took her to her home, giving her loving care until her death March 17, 1958. Surviving her are the son and daughter; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ray Viers of Fulda; five nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mrs. Curtis Barnard (Jessie); her brother Archie; and her two husbands. Mrs. Guthier, well-known to the older residents of our area, was a member of the Olivet Presbyterian church in Minneapolis. She was a past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge in Minneapolis. She gave her life to making people happy. Many are the friends here who were welcomed in her home when they were first making their way in the city. Many are the local residents who were guests in her home while they were in Minneapolis. She was a cordial hostess and an enjoyable companion. Her home was brightened with beautiful flowers and lightened with the laughter of youthful friends. Those in our community who were privileged to be her guests will miss her and her friendly home. We extend to her sister, and to her family, our sincere sympathy. A SECOND SHORTER ARTICLE STATES THAT: Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery."
