FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: April 2004 ========================================================================= Herman Haberman obituary - Fulda Free Press - "Herman Joseph Haberman was born May 26, 1890, in Jackson County, MN, to parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Haberman.  He grew up in Jackson County, where his parents farmed and received his education from the District 37 School in Jackson County and also attended the Sacred Heart School in Heron Lake, MN.  On May 19, 1914, at St. Gabriel's Church in Fulda, he and Anna Ramert were united in marriage.  ' Following their marriage they farmed in Jackson and Cottonwood counties and in 1940 they moved to Fulda where he was employed with Jack Haumesser as a carpenter.  In 1955 he retired and continued to make his home in Fulda.  The last year and one-half he had made his home at the Slayton Manor, Slayton, MN.  He was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and had served on the District 37 School Board.  He passed away December 9, 1973 at the Slayton Manor at the age of 83 years.  He is survived by his wife and 3 children:  James, Fulda, MN; Martha, Mrs. Charles Muell, Azusa, CA, and Leo of Minneapolis.  Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. William (Cecilia) Appel, Windom, MN and Mrs. Frank (Edith) Hedrick, Worthington, MN; 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. Funeral services held Wednesday, December 12, 1973, 10:30 am, St. Gabriel's Chruch, Fulda, MN, Rev. Donald Olson officiating.  Pallbearers are Keith Ramert, Raymond Appel, Julius Appel, Joseph Haberman, Clarence Haberman, and Herman Haberman.  Interment in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Fulda, MN.  Arrangements by the Hustad Funeral Home, Fulda, MN."
