FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: April 2004 ========================================================================= Maxine Harberts obituary - Fulda Free Press - "Maxine (Mickie) Harberts was born Dec. 28, 1921 in Fulda, MN to John and Nora Magnuson Ramert.  She grew up in Fulda and attended St. Gabriel's Elementery School and Fulda High School and helped out in the family cafe.  In 1943 she and James Harmon were married in Minneapolis, MN.  On Dec. 5, 1948 she and Ralph Harberts were married in Worthington, MN.  Together they lived in TX for a few years then they moved to Yankton, SD where they ran a restaurant for many years.  They retired in 1973 and stayed in Yankton until 1978 when they moved to a home on Keeley Island on Lake Shetak.  Ralph passed away on January 23, 1982.  Mickie continued living at Lake Shetak but spent a lot of time in Fulda with her mother, Nora Ramert.  Mickie wa a patient at Abbot-Nothwestern Hospital in Minneapolis for 11 days before passing away there on December 17, 1985 after a lengthy illness.  She was 63 years old.  Mickie was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Slayton since 1978 and belonged to the St. Ann's CCW, was active in the RENEW Program, and a member of the Catholic Daughters for many years.  In her spare time, Mickie enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing, and being with her family. Survivors include two sons, James Harmon of Minneapolis, MN and Jon Harberts of Maui, HI.  She was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Cori, Brendan, Jarett and Kellen Harmon.  Mickie is also survived by her mother, Nora Ramert of Fulda; one sister, Eunice, Mrs. Harry Mathison of Worthington; and two neices, Vicki, Mrs. C V Hatting of Luverne, MN and Mrs. Terri Bruns of Brewster, MN.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph and father, Jack. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 20, 1985 at 2:00 pm at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church of Fulda, MN with Fr. John Traufler, pastor, officiating.  The organish was Mary Ann Boom.  The soloist was A W Koopman.  The lector was Gary Holden.  The servers were Chuck and Doug Zemler.  The honorary pallbearers were:  J T Schueller, Art Larson, Harold Ruppert, Don Kuehl, Bernard Ramert, Don Appel, Tom Ahlers, L C Gerhard, Bernard Fiedler, and Aldo Langfeldt.  The pallbearers were:  Ervin F Haberman, Orville Ruesch, Roy Meyer, Foss Authier, Terry Appel, and Gene Diwtbender.  Interment at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Fulda, MN."
