FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: July 2006 ========================================================================= Bexar County, TX Diane Linda Hardekopf, the daughter of Darlene Malenke and the late Alvin Hardekopf, was born September 28, 1951 in Worthington, Minnesota. As a young child, she lived on a farm north of Dundee, Minnesota, until her father's death in 1953, when they moved to Fulda. In 1956, she moved north of Brewster, Minnesota where she graduated from Brewster Public School in 1969. Diane was most recently employed with Polar Temp Equipment Inc., a subsidiary of Southeast Cooler Corporation Company of Lithia Springs, Georgia. She had worked in the ice industry for approximately thirty years, living in Tampa, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina and San Antonio, Texas. Diane's faith and family were the most important in her life. On Monday, May 29, 2006 Diane passed away at her home in Universal City, Texas after a very courageous year and a half encounter with cancer. Diane is survived by her mother, Darlene Malenke of Worthington, Minnesota; sisters Elaine (Jeffrey) Borning, Rosemount, Minnesota; Linda (Gary) Shelton, Savage, Minnesota; Cheryl (Marvin) Mathias, Heron Lake, Minnesota; Patricia Hochstein, Universal City, Texas; Judy (Jerry) Miller, Olathe, Kansas; brothers Dennis (Bonnie) Malenke, Brownsville, Minnesota and Roger (Phyllis) Malenke, Brewster, Minnesota. Also surviving are ten nieces and nephews. Her father, Alvin Hardekopf, and stepfather Ralph Malenke preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Dundee, Minnesota, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Yackel- Juleen officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda, Minnesota.
