Hromatko was born April 21, 1916 to Wesley and Emma (Jensen) Hromatko on a farm near Lake Wilson, MN, Murray County. On June 26, 1943 A.J. married Maybelle Moffatt on her parent's farm near Avoca in a Methodist ceremony. They settled on his family's home place, and he continued to farm the rest of his life there. On Tuesday, January 16, 2007 A.J. became ill and, in the early morning, was brought to Murray County Memorial. After a CT scan the following day he was rushed by helicopter to Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, where it was determined he had suffered an inoperable brain hemorrhage. He was then returned to Murray County Memorial and finally to the Our House of Murray County Hospice, where he died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the age of 90. A.J. is survived by his wife, Maybelle Hromatko of Lake Wilson, MN; his one son, Rev. Doctor Wesley (Marilyn) Hromatko of Lake Wilson, MN; one sister, Gladys (Eldon) Heetland of Ocheyedan, IA; two sisters-in-law, Jane Spulak of Pueblo, CO and Lois Kubicek of Lincoln, NE; many nieces and nephews and cousins. His parents, one sister, Wilma Hromatko and two brothers-in-law, Robert Spulak and Charles Kubicek preceded him in death. ========================================================================= Copyright Judy Clarke 2007.
