Jensen, 15, of rural Alpena, died Thursday evening, July 15, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, from complications following a heart transplant. Stephanie was born on November 18, 1988 at Mitchell, S.D., the daughter of David and Kathy (Behr) Jensen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs, S.D. She attended grade school at Alpena and would have been a sophomore this year at Wessington Springs High School. Stephanie enjoyed going to all the school activities and also going fishing, camping and boating with her family and friends. She worked at the Springs Inn Cafe when she was in the eighth grade. Stephanie is survived by her parents, David and Kathy Jensen of Alpena; two brothers, Mark of Wessington Springs and Jim of Alpena; a stepbrother, Kyle of Maron, Kansas; her paternal grandparents, Bob and Ruth Jensen of Alpena; her maternal grandmother, Bernardine Behr of Wessington Springs, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harold Behr; and a cousin, Tracy Behr. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at the Free Methodist Church in Wessington Springs, S.D. with the Rev. Michael Bagnall officiating. Pallbearers were Danny Harmdierks, Travis Hohn, Rod Weber, Terry Jensen, Ryan Jensen, and Cory Jensen. Honorary pallbearers were the Class of 2007. Interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Wessington Springs, S.D.
