FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: April 2007 ========================================================================= Roland Karssen was born March 26th, 1944 to William and Jeanetta (Eggink) Karssen on a farm in Leeds Township, Murray County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed his faith at the Chandler Reformed Church in Chandler, MN and attended Chandler Public Schools, graduating in 1962. As a result of a car accident in 1970, Roland was unable to work and went to the VA Hospital in Milwaukee, WI for about six months, before moving back to his family farm. In the mid 1980's he moved into the Ashton Care Center in Pipestone, MN. Roland enjoyed fishing, photography, NASCAR, bird watching and spending time with family and friends. On Wed., Feb. 7th, 2007 Roland died at the McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 62. Roland is survived by his three brothers, Derald (Joann) Karssen and William Karssen both of Slayton, MN and Alden (Marlene) Karssen of Chandler, MN; two sisters, Janice Vander Poel of Luverne, MN and Gaylene (James) Chapman of Lake Wilson, MN; two Aunts, Josephine and Bernice Eggink both of Pipestone, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. His parents, three uncles, Joe, Leonard, and Tony and one aunt, Catherine preceded him in death. ========================================================================= Copyright Judy Clarke 2007.
