She grew up on the farm and attended Wavertree County School. The family later moved to Iona and Lorraine attended St. Columba School. On February 26th 1954 she and Russell Knapp were married in Slayton. Following their marriage they lived in Slayton. In 1969 they moved to Iona. Russ was an over the road trucker and Lorraine would often accompany him on trips. Lorraine passed away on July 1, 2005 at her home in Iona. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton. She also was a member of the Iona American Legion Auxiliary. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening her flowers, playing cribbage with Russ, camping, holidays and the Minnesota Twins Survivors include her husband, Russ Knapp of Iona, three daughters, Linda Hoffman and Ralph Busse of Welcome, MN, Debra Knapp and special family friend Patty Edelman of Avoca, MN, and Donna Knapp of Iona, MN; two granddaughters, Theresa Voth and Tammy Nichols, two great-grandsons, Kyle Nichols and Joseph Voth, three brothers and their spouses, Charles and Carol Gieselman of Roseburg, OR, Leo Gieselman of Rogers, AR, and Louis and Tootsie Gieselman of Avoca, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Robert and Thomas Knapp, and three brothers, Edward, Bernard and Cyril ?Duke? Gieselman. Funeral Services - Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dan De Block officiating. The organist is Twyla Hungerford. Special music is by Amy Engesser. The pallbearers are Dale Gieselman, Dennis Gieselman, Butch Veld, Mick McCormick, John Brown, and Dave Johnson.
