FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: October 2004 ========================================================================= 1915-FANNY "PAT" KNORR-2004 Fanny "Pat" Margaret Knorr, the daughter of Tom and Anna Frerichs Trauernicht, was born October 23, 1915 in Beatrice, NE. She was baptized on November 21, 1915 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beatrice and later confirmed there. She grew up in Nebraska and attended school in Homesville, NE where she graduated in 1933. In 1934 Pat was united in marriage to Chester Overlees and had three children. In 1945 they divorced and she then worked in the Beatrice area. Pat was united in marriage to Allen Smith in 1948. In 1949 they moved to Fulda, MN and ran a service station and grocery store. Allen passed away in 1958. While still living in Fulda she worked at various jobs and met Leonard Knorr and they were married on May 17, 1963 in Fulda. They continued to make their home in Fulda. Leonard passed away in 1972. Pat continued to live at home after her retirement. She moved to the Mapleview Estates in Fulda in August of 1997. Pat passed away on August 20, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 88. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulda where she belonged to the Ladies Aid and the Alter Guild. She also belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Fulda Senior Citizens and the Pink Ladies. She enjoyed sewing, reading, playing cards, bible study and visiting at the nursing home. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mary Overlees; son-in-law, William Maxwell; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great- great-granddaughter; two brothers, Lammert Trauernicht of Beatrice, NE and Walter Trauernicht and his wife, Ila of Plymouth, NE and two sisters, Lena Johnson of Beatrice, NE and Grace Brinkhuis of Sioux Falls, SD and one sister-in-law, Annette Trauernicht. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, Lyle and Richard Overlees, one daughter, Sandra Maxwell, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fulda, MN at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2004 with the Rev. Dwayne Schroeder officiating. The organist was Irene Wahl. Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren. Inurnment at Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda, MN. Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran School in Fulda.
