"Bill" Knorr, the son of Gustav and Minnie (Kammeir) Knorr was born on October 30, 1915 in Merrill, Iowa. he grew up and received his education in Brewster and Lime Creek,Minnesota. William, the oldest of twelve children, engaged in farming with his family until enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corp. in 1942. He served in Europe during WWII, from 1943 until 1945. He was united in marriage to Mary Gravett on January 22, 1943 in Worthington, Minnesota. William worked at Evanson Elevator and Schroeders Elevator Repair until moving to Litchfield in 1967. While living in Litchfield he worked for Cozy Cab and 1st District for seventeen years. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where he held many offices. William enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. Bill is survived by his children; Rebecca (and Ernie) Flury of Rochester, Rodney (and Karen) Knorr of Lake Park, Jill (and Gary) Augeson of Litchfield, Jane Knorr of Cosmos and Sandra (and Danny) Jackson of Lake Lillian. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Fred, Don and Bob and 3 sisters; Joy, Lola and Darlene. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, son Leslie James in infancy, and siblings; Earl, Walt, Leonard, Gustav and Wilma. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 20, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church in Litchfield, Minnesota, with Reverend Terry Olthoff officiating. Casketbearers were Jeff Knorr, Darin Jackson, Amanda Jackson, Mary Thompson, Robert Knorr, Michael Knorr, Andrew Knorr, Ted Olson, Chuck Olson, and Clint Knorr. Interment at Prairie Hill Cemetery, Fulda, Minnesota.
