FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: July 2007 ========================================================================= Murray County Joseph John Kunzweiler, the son of August and Margaret Downey Kunzweiler, was born on April 4, 1917 in Fulda, MN. When he was a young boy they moved to a farm in Seward Twsp., Nobles Co., MN. Joe attended country school and St. Gabriel’s Parochial School and Fulda High School. After high school he entered the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. After his discharge he lived in California. Joe was united in marriage to Mary Scrivener on July 21, 1956 at Our Lady of Angels Church in Burlingame, CA. They made their home their in the early years of their marriage and later made their home in Philadelphia, PA. They would later move to Columbus, OH where they made their home until 1973 when they moved to Fulda. Joe remained in Fulda after Mary’s death in April of 1975. He later moved back to California and was married to Dorothy Svec in December of 1982. Joe returned to Fulda after Dorothy passed away in the summer of 1996. Joe entered the Worthington Regional Hospital in July of 2007 and passed away there on August 10, 2007 at the age of 90. He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed mechanics and mastering puzzles. Survivors include his two daughters, Margaret “Meg” Rialson, of North Mankato, MN and Cecilia Kunzweiler of Worthington, MN and two grandchildren, Gretchen and Kevin Rialson; three step-children, Dick and Bobbi Svec, Judy and Jack Donovan and Joan and Santo Riboli; eight step- grandchildren, David Svec, Erin, Sean, Siobhan, Meghan and Patrick Donovan, Anthony and Shannon Riboli and Michael Riboli and one great-step-grandchild, Alena Riboli. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, Mary and Dorothy and three brothers, Richard, Paul and Vincent Kunzwieler. Funeral services at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church at 10:30 AM on Tuesday August 14, 2007 with Fr. Bob Horihan officiating. The organist is Rita Knutson. The song leader was Shiela Crowley. The pallbearers were David Kunzweiler, Donald Kunzweiler, Phillip Kunzweiler and James Salentiny. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.
