1970 - CLAUDIA PATRICIA DIRKS LEWIS - 2004 
 
Claudia Patricia Dirks Lewis was born July 1, 1970 at Barranquilla, 
Columbia, South America. She attended Olivia schools where she graduated 
from in 1988. She lived with several Olivia families and in 1988 came to 
live with Ben and Pam Dirks. She attended Willmar Community College, 
Southwest State and South Dakota State at Brookings. She lived for a time 
at Shakopee while she worked in Chaska. Claudia married Troy Lewis on 
September 30, 1995 in Olivia and they made their home at Somerset, WI 
and later in Amery, WI. Claudia enjoyed baking, fishing, quilting, 
watching movies, and dogs as well as all animals. She also truly loved 
speaking Spanish. Claudia had a very strong faith, was active in the 
church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was diagnosed with MS in 
1995 and became more debilitated by the disease as time went on. 
Claudia entered Trevilla Care Center in 1999 where she has been a 
resident ever since. These past ten days she has been in the Hospice 
Unit of North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale where her death took 
place on Wednesday, October 13, 2004.

Pall Bearers for the service included Steve Dirks, Peter Dirks, Brian 
Dirks, Terry Lewis, Tim Lewis and Peter Hunsinger.

Claudia is survived by Troy Lewis; his parents, Eddie and Shirley Lewis, 
Fulda; 2 brothers-in-law and their families and 1 sister-in-law and her 
family; Foster Parents Ben and Pam Dirks, Olivia, MN; 7 brothers and 
their families; many nieces and nephews and friends.
