He attended school in Sherburn. On March 27, 1945, he entered the United States Navy serving until his honorable discharge on July 10, 1946. On June 22, 1948, he was united in marriage to Janet Drager in Sherburn, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Sherburn from 1948 until 1961, where Bob operated the Loos Farm Store. They later moved to Estherville, Iowa where Bob was employed at Golden Sun Feeds. They then moved to Slayton, Minnesota. Janet died on January 2, 1975. Bob later moved back to Estherville, Iowa in 1981. In 2001, he moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota. Bob was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville, Iowa. He was a member of the Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8261 of Sherburn where at one time he served on its Honor Guard. He was a former member of the Sherburn Fire Department and played on the Sherburn Foxes Baseball team. He was a member of the Oak Grove Rod and Gun Club in Albert Lea and the NRA. He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing cards and dice, bowling and playing billiards. Bob was an avid Minnesota Gopher fan. Roy passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea, MN at the age of 77. Those who shared his life include his children: Barry Loos and wife Bev, Albert Lea, MN; Mark Loos, Springfield, MO, daughter Gayle Cook, Albert Lea, MN; five grandchildren: Brian Loos and wife Jennifer, Goodhue, MN; Brandi Loos and special friend, Tim Dirkes, Albert Lea, MN; Aaron and Alysa Cook, Albert Lea, MN and Alana Loos, Springfield, MO; sister Darlene Eisenmenger and husband John, Fairmont, MN; Elizabeth "Betty" Hurlber, Glenwood, Springs, CO; father-in-law, Mearl Drager, Welcome, MN and sister-in-law Phyllis Arndt, Welcome, MN, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet Darlene "Drager" Loos; brothers: John, Adam and Jake; sisters: Anne Grew and Margaret Schmidt and other relatives. A Celebration of Life for Roy Robert "Bob" Loos was held on Monday, September 27, 2004, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn, MN with Rev. Steven D. Wilson officiating. Burial in Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont, MN. Kramer Family Funeral Home, Sherburn, in charge of arrangements.
