Lukens - 2004 Lois E. Lukens passed way Christmas morning at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Slayton, MInnesota on August 26, 1921 to Russel and Ida (Johnson) Gamble. She received her education at Slayton High School and graduated from Mankato State University with a dgree in teaching. She taught in school in Russell, Minnesota. She was a member of Gold Hill Lutheran Church. She married Charles Lukens in Hadley, Minnesota on August 26, 1944. He survives in Butte. Other survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Ted Caron, Feely, MT; son and daughter- in-law, Mark and Pam Lukens, Lester Prairie; grandchildren, Kristen Nielson and Michelle Lukens; great granddaughter Madeline Nielson; Siters and brothers- in-law, Margaret Payton, Slayton, MN; Shirley and Len Claxton, Truman, MN; Joyce and Bert Fredrickson, Vermillion, SD. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be conducted Monday, January 17, 2005 in Gold Hill Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Borge officiating.
