The name and date of the paper are unknown. However, there is a handwritten note "Oct. 15 died Oct 12, 1953".) "Funeral Services Today For Mrs. Archie McHarg, Fulda - Funeral services will be conducted today, (Thursday) for Mrs. Archie McHarg, formerly of Fulda in the Presbyterian church in Fulda, with a short ceremony at the home of her daughter, and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Haberman, at 2 o'clock and with the services at the church at 2:30. Mrs. McHarg's death occurred at the Cashel Nursing Home in Worthington on Monday afternoon. Catherine, daughter of August and Anna Tadsen Behr was born at Clinton, Iowa on August 4, 1887. Her own mother died when she was small and she came to know her stepmother as her own. In 1901, the family moved to the Fulda community, where many of the family now live. Catherine was married on December 25, 1907 to Archie McHarg. They lived on a farm which they had recently purchased and continued to make it their home until they moved to Fulda in 1934. To them were born four children: Mrs. Gordon Hendrickson (Mabel) of Aberdeen, S.D., Robert, Mrs. Evan Trimbo (Esther) of Kasota, and Mrs. Ervin Haberman (Wilma) of rural Fulda. These, together with nine grandchildren survive her. Mr. McHarg preceded her in death on December 24, 1952. Also surviving are brothers and sisters: Chris Behr of Minneapolis; Sanke, Fred and Andrew Behr of Fulda; Harry Behr, Mrs. Millie Bucher of Mankato, Mrs. Fred Bender of Henderson, Edwin Behr of Lowry, Henry Wessell of Madison, S.D., Mrs. George Jacobs (Mary Wessell), also of Madison and George Behr of Fulda. One sister, Mrs. Merville Goins, preceded her in death. Until her recent illness, Mrs. McHarg was very active in community, church and club affairs. As a member of the Presbyterian church, of the Rebecca and Royal Neighbor lodges, she took a lead in keeping them going. For several years, failing health has kept her from taking her usual part. Since the death of her husband, she has made her home with her daughters, until the last week, when her severe illness required that she have special nursing. Out of town relatives and friends at the funeral of Mrs. Archie McHarg last week Thursday included Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bender from Henderson, Mrs. Millie Bucher of Mankato, Mrs. Eldon Bucher of Worthington, Mrs. George Jacobs of Montrose, S.D.; Mrs. Robina Guthier and Mrs. Henry Kob of Minneapolis, Jack C Arstens from Westbrook, Mrs. and Mrs. Fred W. Helweg and Misses Hulda Erickson and Dororthy Soeldner of Slayton, Mrs. and Mrs. Bruno Roll from Windom, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Haberman of Heron Lake. The casket bearers at the funeral were John Hyslop. Curtis Miller, Jack Wisdorf, Martin Fries, Herber Meier and Walter Freeland."
