He grew up and attended school in Fulda, MN. After his schooling he lived in Fulda area and worked construction and for several farmers. Gary moved to Kinbrae, MN in 1986 where he continued to live until his death there on Friday, November 12, 2004 at the age of 58. Gary enjoyed fishing, helping others, being outside and working on landscaping around his home. Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Meyers of Morton, MN and Judy Guetter and her husband, Pat of Canby, MN; two brothers, Jim Michelau and his wife, Bonnie of Milaca, MN and Gary Morrison of Albert Lea, MN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers. Funeral services were held at Totzke Funeral Home, Fulda, MN at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 with the Rev. Kristi Mitchell officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Michelau, John Norberg, Tony Michelau, Tim Leebens, Jeff Guetter, Andrew Guetter, Jamie Guetter and Daniel Guetter. Interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Dundee, MN.
