Jon Skaar officiating. 1946 - Mary Jean Nelson - 2004 Mary Nelson was born on August 27, 1946, in Watertown, South Dakota to Fritz and Darlene Finch Fors. She grew up in the Milbank and Redfield areas. Mary graduated from Madison High School in 1964. She then attended Dakota State University in Madison, graduating in 1968. On December 16, 1966, she and Myron Nelson were married in Madison, South Dakota. Following their marriage they lived at in Lake Wilson, Minnesota. Mary taught Junior High English in Lake Wilson and Edgerton for one year and later worked as the library aid at the Chandler and Lake Wilson Schools. Mary worked at Fey Industry in Edgerton as credit manager, from 1991 until 2001 when she retired. Mary passed away on November 10, 2004, at her home in Lake Wilson at the age of 58. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson and was a former officer of the WELCA. Mary was a member of the Lake Wilson Community Club Board, and Community Player Director for 10 years. She also was on the Lake Wilson Design Team after the 1992 tornado. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, movies, and plays. Survivors include her husband Myron Nelson, Lake Wilson; two sons and their spouses: Mark and Shannon Nelson, Mitchell, SD and Cory and Amy Nelson, Yankton, SD; five grandchildren: Mariah, Alec, and Chandler, Accalia and Cole; her mother and step-father Darlene and Henry Reddies, Redfield, SD; two brothers and their spouses: Neil and Dori Fors, Sheboygan, WI and Ken and Teri Fors, Edmond, OK; one sister Patricia and her husband Richard Bottum, Tulare, SD; two sisters-in-law and their spouses: Marilyn and Gene Hexom, Madison, SD and Marian and Richard Riddle, Watertown, SD; eight nieces and special friends, Linda and David Johnson, Lake Wilson, MN. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorial services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, MN on Saturday, November 13, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jon Skaar officiating. The organist was Darlene Bose.
