Murray County

 

Gertrude Margaret Olivier was born October 2, 1916 to Henry and Margaret 

(Murphy) Bothof on the family farm in Fenton Township, Murray County, MN.  

She was baptized and confessed in the Christian faith and attended country

school in Fenton Township.

 On July 9, 1942 Gertrude married William A. Olivier Sr. in Pipestone, 

MN and they made their home on their family's farm site.

 After her husband's death, Gertrude remained on the farm until Monday, 

June 4, 2007 when she became a patient of the Worthington Regional Hospital.  

On Tuesday, June 5, 2007 Gertrude, surrounded by her loving family,

died at the age of 90.

 Gertrude is survived by her six sons, William (Lana) Olivier Jr. of 

Currie, MN, Allen Olivier of Chandler, MN, LeRoy (Linda) Olivier of Luverne, 

MN, Henry Olivier of Rapid City, SD, Arthur (Kara) Olivier of Dillon, MT, 

David Olivier of Chandler, MN, and Matthew Olivier of Chandler, MN; 

five daughters, Margaret (Henry) Boelsma of Boyden, IA, Agnes (Fred) 

Kondrat of Nashua, NH, RoseElla (Robert) Munkel of Worthington, MN, 

Patricia Struiksma of Chandler, MN and Susan (Kyle) Magnuson of Garvin, 

MN; twenty six grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; one great-great 

granddaughter, and one sister, Mary Van Ruler of Adrian, MN.

 Her parents, husband Bill, one infant daughter, one infant sister, one 

sister Catherine Van Roekel and two brothers-in-law Joe Van Ruler and 

Gurrit Van Roekel preceded her in death.
