Esther Gladys (Harjung) Olson, age 89, passed away October 18, 2005 at 

Hall Mark Manor, Federal Way, Washington. Memorial services will be held 

November 26 in Seattle, Washington.



She was born to John and Rakel Harjung March 24, 1916 at St. Paul, 

Minnesota. Esther attended school in St. Paul, graduating from Mechanic 

Arts High School. Esther then worked at the Golden Rule Department Store 

and the Farmer's Union Grain Exchange, St. Paul, Minnesota.



On December 24, 1942, Esther married Clancy Olson. To this union three 

children were born; Pamela (Olson) Fadlovich of Eureka, California; 

Clancy Olson, Jr. of Mankato, Minnesota and Roxanne (Olson) Hollingsworth 

of Atkinson, Nebraska. The family moved to the homestead farm ten miles 

from Fulda, Minnesota in the spring of 1948. Esther and family were 

members of the First Lutheran Church, Dundee, Minnesota. She and Clancy 

lived on the farm until August, 1979, when they moved to Fulda. After the 

death of her husband in 1982, Esther attended classes in Worthington 

Junior College, where she also participated in several plays. In August, 

1987, she moved to Eureka, California, with her daughter, Pamela, living 

there until moving to Federal Way in 2002.



Esther is survived by three children; Pamela (Olson) Fadlovich of Eureka, 

California; Clancy Olson, Jr. of Mankato, Minnesota and Roxanne (Olson) 

Hollingsworth of Atkinson, Nebraska, five grandchildren and three great-

grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clancy, parents; 

and her brother, Glen Harjung.
