His parents were Peder and Edith (Rasmusen) Pederson. He grew up and attended schools in the Westbrook area. He farmed for several years before moving to Las Angeles, California to work at Lockheed Aircraft Plant. Ronald enlisted in the US Navy in 1942, and served for several years in both World War II and the Korean War. After the service he attended Worthington Junior College and worked in the Norton Sharp Lockers in Worthington. Ronald was united in marriage to Viola Braun on June 19, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashau, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Worthington area. In 1955, they moved to a farm outside of Dundee, where he farmed for many years and lived for the remainder of his life. In his retirement, he was active with travel, church and golf. He was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Westbrook where he served as an Elder for many years. On November 4, 2005, Ronald Phillip Pederson died at the Worthington Regional Hospital at he age of 86. He is survived by his wife Viola, Dundee, MN; son Shane (Mary); and granddaughter Grace, Oak Park, Illinois; brother: Marvin (Joanne), Cedar Falls, Iowa and Ivan (Signe), Westbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Stanley (Margaret). Funeral services were held on Monday, November 7, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, Westbrook, MN with Keith Carey, CPL officiating. Organist was Betty Rupp. Congregational Hymns included: "Rock Of Ages", "Eternal Father", "Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee". Casketbearers were Shane Pederson, Roland Hanson, Ivan Pederson, Bruce Pederson, Leo Olsem, and Wesley Jacobs. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Windom, MN.
