Karen Rose (Lindberg) Pelvit was born June 7, 1935, on a farm in Avoca, 

Minnesota to Arvid and Vera Lindberg. She attended elementary school in 

Avoca and graduated from Slayton High School. After graduation she moved 

to Minneapolis and worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell 

Telephone. Karen and Charles Pelvit were united in marriage September 22, 

1956. Following their marriage she worked at Honeywell, Ledwin Carpet and 

Campbell-Mithun until retiring. She died of cancer after being cancer 

free for 23 years. 



She is survived by her husband Charles; daughters: Linda Franke, Blaine, 

MN and Brenda (Mark) Krause, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Kyle, Kara Franke, 

Heather, Luke and Jeanna Krause; brothers: Curtis (Donna) Lindberg, 

Wabasha, MN; Joe (Sue) Lindberg, Herkimer, NY; sisters Penny Hall, Webster, 

WI and Shelley Opdahl, Slayton, MN. She was preceded in death by her 

parents Arvid and Vera Lindberg, infant brother Robert Burton Lindberg 

and sister Victoria Poss. 



Funeral services were held on Friday, January 6, 2006, at Prince of 

Peace Lutheran Church, Spring Lake Park, MN.
