FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: June 2005 ========================================================================= Ronnie Rogers was born on July 2, 1938, on a farm near Fulda to Clifford and Lucille Swenson Rogers. The Rogers family moved to a farm in Cameron Township north of Lake Wilson in 1943. Ronnie graduated from Lake Wilson High School in 1956. On June 7, 1975, he and Karen Van Meveren were married in Slayton, Minnesota. Following their marriage they farmed in Lake Sarah Township north of Slayton and raised their three children. They retired from farming in 2000, but continued living on the farm. Ronnie passed away on May 7, 2005 at his son's, Randy's home in Currie at the age of 66. Ronnie was Jehovah's Witness. Ronnie enjoyed building hot rod cars with his son Randy, racing, hunting, fishing and animals. Survivors include his wife Karen, rural Slayton; three children and their spouses: Michael and Christel Rogers, Luverne, MN; Angie and Ryan Strampe, Marshall, MN; and Randy Rogers, Currie, MN, five grandchildren: Christine, Michelle, Deb, Alex and Tony, and one sister Jean and her husband Eldon Cowell, Magnolia, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Burden. Memorial services were held at Hadley Community Center on Monday May 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rick Cowell officiating.
