Ruppert was born January 24, 1923, in Currie, Minnesota to Theodore and Ozelda ( Beach ) Ruppert. He grew up in Currie and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Currie, Minnesota. He worked at Solar Aircraft in San Diego, California as a welder for two years, from 1942- 1944. Ted was united in marriage to Dawn Greenman on February 21, 1944. They farmed near Garvin for six years, moved to Walnut Grove and farmed there for two years, then moved to a farm north of Garvin and lived there until they bought their farm near Tyler in 1960. Ted and Dawn moved to town in 1984. He was a member of St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler, since 1960. He was also a member of the third and fourth degree Knights of Columbus, serving two years as Grand Knight. Ted was a member of the Tyler Senior Citizens and served as president for two years and was a member of Hope Mutual Board of Directors and the Marshfield town board for several years. Theodore M. Ruppert passed away May 18, 2005, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Dawn, Tyler; two sons: Brian (Trisha), Houston, TX and Thomas and fiance Kathy Seanor, Tyler; two adopted children: Harriet (Tom) Tiede, Seattle, WA, and Dale (Maxine), Basin, WY; seven grandchildren: Benjamin and Kristopher, Bradley and Barbara, Tamara, Carol and Tom; two brothers: Clifford (Donna), Currie and Harlen (Donna), Slayton, seven nephews and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his little daughter Ann Marie, and his parents Ted and Ozelda. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler, MN with Fr. Harry Behan officiating. Organist was Darla Bakker. Song leader was Bev Hess. Honorary casketbearers were E.R. Thooft, Bob Rasmussen, Robert Derynck, Bob Hays, Robert McKigney, and Harold Madsen. Casketbearers were Ben Ruppert, Brad Ruppert, Jim Drown, John Ruppert, Bradley Ruppert, Jerome Ruppert. Burial in the church cemetery.
