Cornelia Scheerhorn was born June 12, 1908, to James and Kate (Vos) Swart 
on a farm five miles north of Chandler, Minnesota. She was baptized and 
confirmed in the Christian faith and attended country school. As a young 
woman, she helped raise her siblings. On December 24, 1935, Connie 
married Jerry Scheerhorn and they made their home on a farm near Royal, 
Iowa. They then moved to a farm near Iona, Minnesota in 1949 where they 
remained until their retirement, then moved into Chandler in 1971. Connie 
was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chandler and was active in 
the church women's groups, Bible study and church quilting. She enjoyed 
quilting, flower gardening, shopping, reading and spending time with her 
grandchildren and friends. In 2003, Connie became a resident of the 
Lindenwood Assisted Living in Slayton, Minnesota. On Tuesday, April 5, 
2005, Connie died at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton at the 
age of 96. 

Connie is survived by her one son Gary (Deb) Swart, Slayton, MN; one 
grandson Dave Swart, Slayton; one granddaughter, Renee (Perry) Estebo, 
Redwood Falls, MN; two great grandchildren Deon and Jaydon Estebo, 
Redwood Falls, MN; one sister Darlene (Bob) Francis, Sacramento, CA; one 
brother Don (Dorothy) Swart, Shakoppe, MN; three sisters-in-law: Clarise 
Swart, Badger, MN; Elaine Swart, Worthington, MN; and Pat Swart, Omaha, 
NE; special niece Kathleen Prahm, Slayton, MN; two special friends: Sybil 
Grogan and Jennie Grimmius, both of Chandler, MN and many nieces and 
nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry; three 
sisters: Lois Swart Foderberg, Jen Prahm and Ann Brummer; four brothers: 
Dick, Leonard, Nick and James; two sisters-in-law: Johanna Swart and 
Lorraine Swart and four brothers-in-law: Elmer Prahm, Vic Brummer, Carl 
Olson, and Linn Foderberg. 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 9, 2005 at the Trinity 
Lutheran Church in Chandler, MN. Interment in Chandler Memorial Cemetery, 
Chandler. Arrangements by Chandler Funeral Association of Chandler.
