"Last Rites for Henry Schroeder - Interment Made in Prairie Hill Cemetery on Tuesday - The church funeral services for the late Henry Schroeder, who died on last week Monday morning, were held Friday afternoon at the Lutheran church, with the Rev. O.A. Soeldner officiating, and with a large group of friends and neighbors filling the church to capacity to pay their last respects to the deceased. The pall bearers were old family friends, Chas. Breit, Leonard Horn, Hans Gehl, August Meier, John Uttech, and Wm. Boehnke. After the services the body was removed to the Reusse Funeral Home to await the coming of two sons, Elmer and Stanley, both of the army. Elmer arrived Sunday morning from Camp Mackall, North Carolina, and Stanley arrived Monday evening from Newfoundland. Burial services were held Tuesday afternoon and interment made in Prairie Hill cemetery. Among the relatives and friends who came to attend the church services were Mr. and Mrs. John Schroeder of St. James, a brother of the deceased; August and William Pfingsten of Wheatland, N.D.; Seaman and Mrs. August Schroeder of Great Lakes, Mrs. and Mrs. Edward Hempeck, Buddy and Luther from Worthington, Mrs. Bernice Schroeder of Sioux Falls, Judy G.J. Kolander, Frances Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Nellie Fitzpatrick of Slayton, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Walther of Avoca, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Fink and Mrs. Norman Thompson from Worthington. The two sons, Elmer and Stanley, were home for burial services on Tuesday."
