FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: May 2005 ========================================================================= Yolanda Arlene Schroeder - 1922 to 2005 Lonny Schroeder was born in Nobles County, Minnesota, near Brewster to Arthur and Clara Kraft Hill. She grew up on a farm near Hadley, attended country school and graduated from Slayton High School in 1940. She then graduated from Mankato Business College and worked in finance and bankin for a number of years in Mankato. She was very active in the Business and Professional Women's Club locally and at the state level. On May 6, 1956, she and Milton Schroeder were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Slayton, Minnesota. Following their marriage they lived in Worthington. In 1959, they moved to Slayton and bought Midwest Supply with Dorothy and Earl DeVine. While she and Milt raised their three children, Lonny managed the clothing department at Midwest Supply. Lonny was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and taught art in Vacation Bible School for many years. She was active in the community and her neighborhood, and managed the exhibit office of the Murray County Fair for 25 years. Coffee parties, her birthday club, fishing trips, arts and crafts, shopping and spending time with her family were Lonny's favorite pastimes. In 2002 Lonny and Milt moved to Northfield, Minnesota. Lonny lived in the Three Links Care Center until she passed away there on March 30, 2005, at the age of 83. Survivors include her husband Milt, Northfield; three children and their spouses: Sandra (Nathan) Mueller, Eagan, MN; Curtis Schroeder, Fridley, MN and Renae (Jim) Buchheim, DeForest, WI; four grandchildren: Nicole Mueller, Angela Schroeder, Jacob and Alexander Buchheim; and one sister Dolores Ewy, Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Dorothy DeVine. Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Slayton with Rev. John Stern officiating. Kathy Schwartz was the organist. Pallbearers were: Denny Beers, Garry Dierks, Jim Gerber, Royal Lear, Sam Toner and Tom Wiese. Interment in Slayton Memorial Gardens. Memorials to the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, MN.
