She was baptized and professed her faith in the Christian Reformed Faith. She grew up in Chicago and attended Christian School and then as a young girl moved with her family to a farm in the Chandler, Mn areea where she attended Country School and worked on the family farm On September 24, 1936 Christina married John Tims at her parents' farm. They made their home on a farm near Iona, MN and later on a farm east of Chandler. In 1947 they moved into Iona, MN. Christina worked for the Campbell's Soup Company in Worthington, MN for 18 years. John preceded her in death in February 2000. Christina moved into an apartment in Chandler in November of 2000. She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Chandler where she was active in the past as church organist, Sunday School Teacher, Dorcas Society and Ladies Aid. Christina taught piano and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading and vegetable gardening. On Thursday, September 1, 2005 Christina died at the Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, MN at the age of 94. Christina is survived by two daughter, Joann (Ted) Lyzenga of Grand Rapids, MI and Mary (Corky) Van Eck of Ruthton, MN; one son, John Jr. (Jeanette) Tims of Norfolk, NE; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one brother, Henry Vanden Burg of Edgerton, MN; one sister-in-law, Delpha Vanden Burg of Iona, MN; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Cal and Connie Tinklenberg. Her parents, husband, John, brother, Cornelius Vanden Burg and two sisters, Annetta Mollema and Catherine Christians preceded her in death. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Christian Reformed Church of Chandler, MN, Rev Peter Brouwer officiating. Interment was in Chandler Memorial Cemetery, Chandler, MN.
