Mrs. Tolzin was taken ill Saturday evening when she suffered a heart attack, and on the advice of her physician, was taken to the hospital. On Sunday, she appeared to be completely recovered but remained in the hospital for observation. She continued to improve and Monday morning had received the usual hospital attention and the services of a nurse who had given her medicine. The nurse left the room and when she returned five minutes later, Mrs. Tolzin had passed away, having evidently suffered another heart seizure, as there was no warning of her approaching death. Emma Catherine Margaret Knollenberg, daughter of Henry and Amelia Knollenberg, was born on June 8, 1889, at Burtonview, Logan County, Illinois. When she was five years of age her parents came to Minnesota and settled on a farm four miles southeast of Iona. Emma came to Fulda to live at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Brasch while attending the Fulda Lutheran school and was confirmed March 3, 1902. She was married to Henry Tolzin in the Fulda Lutheran church on January 19, 1910. They first established their farm 2 = miles south of Iona where they lived for one year, later moving onto a farm a half mile south of Wirock where they stayed for 15 years. In the spring of 1926 they bought the farm two miles northwest of Fulda which has since been the family home. Mr. and Mrs. Tolzin were the parents of three sons and two daughters, of whom one son died in infancy. Those surviving their mother are Clarence and Lester of Fulda, Leona at home, and Elaine of Minneapolis. Mrs. Tolzin is also survived by one brother, Chas. Knollenberg of Iona, and by two sisters, Mrs. Ray Burnham (Katie) of Slayton, and Mrs. Ed Pearson (Lizzie) of Minneapolis. The funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, with a brief service at the home at 1:30, followed by the church service at St. Pauls Lutheran church, with the Rev. O. A. Soeldner officiating. The pall bearers will be Ed Buschena, Carl Hakeneis, Wm. Bucka, Charles Breit, George Dierks and William Dierks. (This article is from a relative's scrapbook.
