FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: March 2005 ========================================================================= Gary VandenBurg was born on June 19, 1953, in Pipestone, Minnesota to Cornelius “Cornie” and Delphia “Del” Gilbertson VandenBurg. He grew up in Pipestone and graduated from Pipestone High School in 1970. He and Deb May were married in 1973 in Arizona. They later divorced. Gary worked as a carpenter in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Omaha, Nebraska and various places in Washington. In October 2005, Gary moved to Iona, Minnesota and worked for Bob and Jeff Hentges as a carpenter. Gary passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2005, at the Murray County Hospital in Slayton at the age of 51. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Pipestone. Gary enjoyed working on the computer, music, fishing and hunting. Survivors include two daughters: Shila VandenBurg, California and Chelsea VandenBurg, Arkansas; his mother Del VandenBurg, Iona, MN; one brother Roger VandenBurg and his wife Sue, Alta, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services are at the Assemblies of God Church in Slayton, MN on Wednesday March 2, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tom Hartwell officiating. Special music by Cheri Paulsen. The pallbearers are John Gilbertson, Tom Fitzgerald, Randy Gilbertson, Mike Fitzgerald, Brad Bojie and Kory Vandenburg.
