She grew up near Reliance, South Dakota, and attended school in the Lyman County School District. In the early 1930's, she moved to Ashton, Iowa. She was married to Joseph Voss September, 25, 1934, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at Ashton. They farmed near Ashton until 1950, and then moved to Minnesota to farm in the Fulda and Iona area. They retired in 1965, and moved to Fulda. Joe died December 31, 1986. Leona passed away at the Worthington Regional Hospital September 30, 1994. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, and gardening. Leona is survived by six children and their spouses, Ann, Mrs. ____ John of Marshall, Mildred, Mrs. Don Portz of Sheldon, IA, and Annette Voss of Fulda, Irene, Mrs. Steve Golberg of Prior Lake, Dan Voss of Lakeville, Steve and Diana Voss of Fulda; four grandchildren, and one great- granddaughter; two sisters, Marie _______ of Ashton, IA, Frances Nanneman of Marceline, MO; and a brother, Henry Stallman of Reliance, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Victoria, five brothers, __________, Lawrence, Albert, Paul, and Ray, and one granddaughter, ________ John. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 3, 1994, at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Fulda, with Fr. Eugene Egan officiating. The organist was Mary Ann Boom and Linda Lund and Lloyd Winters were soloists. The pallbearers were grandsons, Joseph Portz, _______ Portz, Douglas Portz, Timothy Portz, Cory Voss, and Steve ______. Committal services were at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Ashton, Iowa. (NOTE: The obituary was located next to the binding in a book.
