Marion was born June 6, 1924 in Iona, MN to Mary Catherine (Kellen) and Joseph M Thraen. She married Elmer Joseph Whaley in 1946 and moved to Oklahoma City in 1948. In 1990, Marion retired from American Airline (Skychef) at Will Rogers World Airport after thirty-five years of service. Her parents, four brothers; Bud, Ray, Ally, Delb, and infant sister, and her husband preceded her in death. Marion is survived by one daughter, Sharlet Medley and son-in-law Mike; grandchildren, Brian and Heathy Medley of Onalaska, WI, Angela and Joh Gray of Suisun City, CA, and great grandchildren Katherine Medley and Justin and Peyton Gray; sisters; Leonarda and Ernie VanKlei (Adrian, MN), Eva Anderson (Sioux Falls, SD), Dorothy Sturgis (Slayton, MN), Betty Rooker (Ripley, MS), Alice Thraen (Rochester, MN); and brothers, Ed (Slayton, MN), Jim (Morris, MN), and Rex (Phoenix, AZ). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, S.W. 44th & Meridian, OKC.
