FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Clarke Submitted: April 2007 ========================================================================= Harvey Yantzi was born on November 6, 1915 in rural Nobles County, Minnesota to David U. and Maggie Wettlaufer Yantzi. At a young age he moved with his family to Mott, ND and after a couple of years they returned to Minnesota to live on a farm by Badger Lake near Slayton, MN. Harvey attended country school and worked on the family farm. On September 15, 1962 Harvey was united in marriage to Eva Schlueter at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN. After their marriage they remained on the family farm until 1964 when they moved to a farm near Lake Wilson, MN. They later made their home in Slayton and Harvey worked at the lumberyard. After his retirement in 1980 he did handy work in the area. On Octorber 31, 2001 Harvey and Eva became resident of the Cross Roads Care Center in Worthington, MN. Eva passed away on March 1, 2003. Harvey remained at Cross Roads Care Center and passed away there on March 2, 2007 at the age of 91. He was a lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Chruch in Slayton where he was baptized and confirmed. Harvey enjoyed gardening, doing handy work and woodworking and working on his Model A Ford. Survivors include many nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Eva, one brother and nine sisters. Memorial services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Red Kunze officiating. The organist was Twyla Hungerford. Pallbearers were Verlyn Erickson, David Lang, Ervin Smith, Lee Smith, Clyde Smith, Richard Smith, Joel Stevens, Ervin Bednar and Kevin Smith.
