Thomas Duane officiating.  Mr. Zanko passed away February 9, 1963 at the Murray County Memorial Hospital at Slayton, MN.  Karl Zanko was born August 23, 1882 in Vienna, Austria, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Zanko.  He received all of his schooling and his apprenticeship in carpentry in Vienna.  He came to Fulda with his family in March 1905.  He was united in marriage to Theresia Volkmann on September 19, 1905 at St. Gabriel's Church.  They lived all of their married life in Fulda.  He did carpenter work until he retired.  He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Zanko is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louise Ramert, three grandchildren, Mrs. L C Gerhard (Rita), Mrs. Don Kuehl (Wilma), and Mrs. Clarence Hager (Louise).  There are fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and a sister.  Interment was in St. Gabriel's Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Richard Chepa, Clarence Malenke, Joe Dorpinghaus, James Brady, John Bottoms, and Vic Gits.  Arrangements were by Nelson-Hustad Funeral Home."
